Awards for the people that make it work!

Print Monkey are a print solutions business, based in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire, we work with a variety of clients from global brands to small local design agencies, where sometimes procuring the print can be more a hassle than a delight, whether that be from a lack of expertise or more usually a lack of time! It may be three million copies of national door drop campaign, launch stationery & marketing collateral for a new brand or on demand digital printing, such as postcards, leaflets. We also source all manner of premium items from mouse mats, pens, USB sticks.

We manage all aspects of the print project. Our desire for finding solutions is demonstrated in the diverse projects we have worked on. We have recently won 3 marketing services awards, which recognize the contribution third party suppliers make to marketing campaigns.

These awards truly demonstrate our commitment to the business, our clients & suppliers. We are incredibly pleased with the success and also the opportunities such recognition brings us, both locally & nationally.

Monday 14th June 2010

Teething toys are pretty popular in our house at the moment with a six month old baby who will put anything in her mouth she can possibly get her hands on, there is a requirement to have one to hand at all times, they are in the kitchen, lounge, office, changing bag, the car and my handbag so we have all situations covered.

I was recently contacted by an online company called Hello Baby www.hellobabydirect.co.uk and was asked if I would be happy to review one of their products for my blog site www.socialmediamum.co.uk

After reading my blogs Trevor had noted that I had recently had a baby in December and suggested I reviewed a teething toy.

After agreeing to the review the parcel arrived within a couple of days, I excitedly accepted it from the postman and opened it up to see what it was. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not your average teething ring, rattle or toy but a beautiful French ‘soft toy to nibble’ known as a Chan Pie Gnon. I had never seen anything like this before and immediately gave it to my daughter. Of course she put it straight to her mouth and began to chew, nibble and suck on this soft rubber toy.

The great thing about this toy is that it is so soft it’s easy for a baby to hold and when it’s gently squeezed it makes a noise which immediately creates amusement. The toy is a bright white appearance which stands out over the rest and now my daughter actually recognises it when she sees it and if she drops it she can see where it has gone as it stands out very well. The box which it came in was full of useful information about the toy relating to the five senses taste, hearing, touch, smell and sight.

Having looked on the www.hellobabydirect.co.uk website I see that there are three models in the range for baby to collect, each in a subtly different and engaging shape. The toys are made from natural rubber and painted with food grade paints so you can be sure that baby can chew it in complete safety.

I would recommend anyone to try this product, even my husband thinks it’s great and it would certainly make a nice different and very welcome gift.

I have had lots of positive contact with Trevor who runs the online shop www.hellobabydirect.co.uk and the product arrived very quickly after initial contact so I am sure that customer service will be as good as they promise.

I hope that people have confidence to try the product and find it just as good as we have.

Having known Joanna Ringe from Chic Throws for many years, 20 infact, and also losing touch for some of them, it has been great to welcome her as part of our Mums in Business group. Jo has always had a passion for fashion and design and after a lot of planning Jo has launched her company Chic Throws. I recently caught up with Jo and this is what she had to say.

“I had been scouring the web in search of a throw for my home, I wanted something different, something that wasn’t replicated in many other houses, but I found nothing that made me go ‘that’s the one!’

With 20 years experience in the fashion industry behind me I looked at the possibility of making the throw I was searching for, after several very successful prototypes I completed my own beautiful sofa throw, which still takes pride of place in our lounge and is fought over nightly!

Many of our friends & family enquired where I had bought the throw & so I began making commissioned throws & ‘Chic Throws’ was born. I am currently working on two new throws to add to my online collection which is gaining an amazing following, throws have become a fashionable but functional part of many rooms within our homes.”

Connection Events would like to wish Jo every success in her new venture and also suggest that you take a look at her beautiful throws at her online shop within Misi

Thirty business owners got together for coffee, cupcakes and a glamorous photoshoot to launch The Business Mums’ Conference 2010.

The Business Mums’ Conference 2010 is a collaboration between three successful business women, Nicky Chisholm of Mums in Biz and The Mumpreneurs’ Networking Club, award winning author and entrepreneur Antonia Chitty and Suzanne Borrell of SMB Events, founder of the ‘BabyExpo’ baby shows.

According to a recent BT survey, one mum in 10 wants to run her own business, and 15 per cent of women have started their own business since having children. Nicky Chisholm says, “We’re running the Business Mums’ Conference to help women get inspired, and learn skills to develop their business. At the show you will meet other mums running their own businesses, plus those thinking and planning to start up. You’ll meet people who have attended the Mumpreneurs networking Club, those from the Mums in Biz training events and mums from across the south of England and beyond. It’s a chance to catch up with old friends, meet people you have only ever emailed or chatted to on forums, and to make new contacts.

Experienced events organizer Suzanne Borrell explains, “This is going to be a fun and glamorous event, but with lots of practical applications for any mums who own a business. We’ve chosen the Thistle Hotel as it a great venue in central Brighton and will be easily accessible for women attending from across the region.”

Antonia Chitty says, “We’ve just launched the site for the event which is well worth a look. Every week we’ll be showcasing a businesswoman from across Sussex and the south east. You can sign up to be the first to hear about the inspiring speakers we are lining up. You’ll also be able to buy tickets for the event which takes place on the 5th of October and is part of Business Mum Week 2010.”

For more about the event, see www.businessmumsconference.co.uk
